Green-ness is one of the most current, dare I say, fads, to take over our nation. True, the innovation behind making "green" products is awesome. More "awesome" than this, is how people are so worried about their environment, yet they could care less that their own child can't manage to pull off higher than a C+ in math. I'm just saying... Some people care too much about fads, causing them to neglect the important responsibilities around them. Is being "green" really cared about that much by our population? Many people think of "going green" as a crucial step in preserving our planet's integrity and ability to sustain life. Others could care less, and would rather have life's little luxuries, regardless of how "green" they are. With all the talk about green-ness sweeping over the nation, and with all the support that companies have given towards the initiative, you would assume there to be a high demand for products that comply with these standards.
Shockingly (but not really), people don't really seem to care about "going green" if it comes at their own expense. Sure, companies need to be more green, but consumers? No way! Why should they? Of course customers are willing to go green, but only if it doesn't inconvenience them. Why should I pay more for something that is made of recycled paper? If it's better for the world, they should make it cheaper. That way, more will support it. There was an interesting study done that highlights just how "green" people care to be if it means giving up certain everyday items (some of them, luxury items).
